ESA press release: 100th lunar asteroid collision confirmed by second telescope

On March 1, 2020, NELIOTA recorded its 100th lunar impact flash. Using a 35 cm telescope, a newly established team at the Sharjah Lunar Impact Observatory (SLIO) of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology, UAE, detected the same event. This 100th detection not only marks an impressive milestone for the NELIOTA project, but is also the first time that one of the NELIOTA impact flashes was confirmed by another observatory.
